REJECTION

It's not a nice word rejection. It's particularly daunting when used in the world of organ transplantation. What if we go through all of this and the kidney is rejected? It is a possibility and it would be totally shit. We would get through it of course but all the reasons for putting us both through operations and putting all of our hope in this process would be taken away immediately if the kidney was rejected. The doctors will ensure that they do everything to prevent this from happening but it is still a potential outcome that taunts us. I guess it not working is not a definite but the fact the current filters have packed up is definite and so we go on this crazy journey because the odds are better to try - we can't do nothing and if it works that would just be phenomenal. I suppose there is nothing you can really do to prepare for this outcome accept acknowledge that it exists and stay positive.
